Friends For Children is a non-political and non-religious charity of Ethiopians and friends of Ethiopia. The charity aims
- to relieve the poverty, hardship and distress among Ethiopian children orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS by providing financial/material support for the said orphans, and where possible
- to assist with donation and advice charities working for the rights of and with orphans and street children
To these ends FFC runs a sponsorship programme which supports orphans without religious, political, sexual or ethnic discrimination. Owing to FFC financial and other limitations its current sponsorship programme is confined to Addis Ababa, where the greatest concentration of orphans are to be found in the country. However, the charity plans to extend its programme to all the regions of the country with growth in its financial resources and organisational capacity.
