Participate in FFC Activities

FFC is a very small charity run by three officers who do most of the administrative work. They carry out duties in their spare time. The charity has neither the means nor the intention to employ administrative staff, to adhere to its principle of keeping overhead cost to zero as much as possible. This means the future of the charity depends heavily on the financial commitments of its members, and on the support of volunteers to raise fund and to provide practical assistance.

Volunteer as fundraiser

So far the few fundraising activities held by and on behalf of FFC were carried out by volunteers. It is one major area in which a dedicated volunteer or a team of volunteers can contribute to the continuation and expansion of the support we give to orphans and vulnerable children in Ethiopia.

Give Practical Support

There are a number of areas in which practical support can ease the burden of duties on the FFC officers. Some of these require professional skills in the following areas

  • Writing project proposals
  • Organising AGM
  • Maintaining the FFC website
  • Producing promotional materials

Lack of skills and material resources in these and other areas have hampered our activities and prospects for growth. FFC can do a great deal with volunteers in these areas. So if you are able to help in some way please get in touch.

Support the FFC Sponsorship Programme

Our main project is providing financial support for double orphans who lost their parents to HIV/AIDS. Presently, a child sponsored by us gets a monthly allowance which defrays some of the costs of basic necessities (food, clothing, educational materials) so that the beneficiary go to school living in the home of their carer.

On average £15.00 pcm (fifteen pound sterling per month) suffice to provide basic support for a child under our programme. Normally, people who want to make regular contribution become our members, and their contribution go to a general fund which enable us to sponsor children, their number depending on the size of the fund.

There is no set amount to become a member. Our members being from a wide-range of social and economic background and being from all age groups including school children to old age pensioners, they contribute as much as they can afford. We are very grateful for every penny and pound as it adds up to a sum to sponsor a needy child.
